Ever since I read Beautiful Disaster, I've bouncing through the YA genre. They're all really good and I haven't been disappointed, but they tend to all run together. Every once in a blue moon, you find a book thats refreshing and new. That can take the 'same old story' and go outside of the box. For me, thats exactly what Crash did and I absolutely loved it.
After tragedy strikes the Larson family, Lucy's family has fallen apart. Her mother has checked out, her father has gone crazy and they've lost just about everything. They move into their lake house after the loss of their house and Lucy starts as a high school senior at Southpointe High. Lucy is ambitious and determined. Her eyes set on Julliard and then she meets Jude.
Hey Jude.
He's a bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. He's got a rap sheet that could go on for days and he lives at a local boys' home.
Jude and Lucy know that they shouldn't be together, but at the same time, they can't stay away from each other.
This summary probably sounds generic and like the same old bad boy/good girl story, but trust me its not. I've left out alot because there are so many different twists and turns in this book and I didn't want to give anything away. This is my favorite kind of book. It keeps you guessing and you really don't expect whats coming. This is the perfect book to read on a rainy day. You cannot put it down. I read this in 1 day.
I'm really thrilled because Nicole Williams decided to write a sequel to this. The name of it is Clash and its coming out in Sept. I could not be more happier about this. I really felt that Jude and Lucy's story deserved another book.
Here is the Amazon link. If you ever take my advice on a book, please do for this one. Its such a great read.
